I’m back again,
What a weekend. I got to the track on Friday at about 17h00.
I was hanging with Luki Weiss until Rene arrived.
It rained quite hard but the track did not absorb much water.
It was rock hard.
I was a bit nervous with my thumb. I did not know how it was going to hold out ...
I knew I could do a few laps but 30 min +2 laps was a different story.
My Bike was looking really good thanks to Rene. It was a jewel amongst the other bikes.
I had spent the Wednesday at Race-Tech (Hubert Hoffman) and I had my suspension changed and we put that into my race bike.

I was not going to ride the first practise but when I saw every 1 else on the track It itched real bad in my fingers and promptly 10 min I was on the track.
I rode the second practise and in Time training I was 1st in my group.
The brace that Ortema made for me was holding out really well and my thumb was not taking so much abuse as I thought it would.
.
I went to bed early and was ready for racing.
The side cars polished the track until you could only see black lines on it.
They wet the whole track just before the first race.
It was extremly slippery.
I decided to go with soft pack tires. I was off the gate really well and going into the first corner I was 1st, but going up the first hill my rear wheel just spun and I was only about 6th into the second corner...
It felt like ages until the track got dryer and I could start using my power. Before the rear wheel was just spinning wildly even though I was hooking up gears early.
By the time I got into third the two other riders were long gone. So I settled for 3rd...

The second race they didn’t wet the track. It was so hard there was no more dust on it anyway..
I got out the gate really well again I just missed a shift (forgot more like it) and was 7th
I had my work cut out for me.
I was slowly catching up to the front runners.
My biggest worry was Andy Boller. I knew if he got into the front on these conditions he was going to pull away.
He made a small mistake and I went past.
I just cruised out front after that and Andy held Maxi at bay. Giving me the overall win...
I am looking forward to next weekend.
Aichwald has always been one of my favourite tracks.
Hope to see you all there.
PS I have some knew posters so you can come and get 1.
