Hello Friends, Well what a weekend again. It was really good being back
at a GP and seeing all my old friends again...... The weather was
perfect this year and so was the track. I was looking forward to the
riding. I drove up with my friend Claus and his son Louis. In his
camper and on the way we picked up Bjorn Bierbrauer who is taking a
forced beak because he broke his wrist. We got there on Friday at 14h30.
The track was looking good. I found my way to EBS-STURM Racing Team.
They were there with both the trucks. Robby was all smiles because this
was his first ever GP he was going to ride. I wandered around the pit
area saying hello to the World again. :o) We got our bikes through
Technical Control. Then I went to look at the track. We sat around
talking then I was off to bed.
I was having extreme difficulties with Hay fever :o(((
I woke up to Blue Sky's and that put me into a good Mood. That and the
fact my son Jeremy and Nadine were comming, AND my brother Peter from
South Africa who was on his way to the track.
It felt good to be on the track. I was riding smoothly and fast. In the
1st training I was 13th. We put an Anti Hopping clutch in my other bike
for the second training. I was 15th in the second training. Thanks to
Dunlop Germany and Europe I got some good tires for Time training. I was
17th in Time training..... Not bad for a 38 year old ;o) At last I had
some time for Jeremy and Nadine. We went up to the tent and got some
Food. I could hardly sleep due to my Hay Fever.
Its so frustrating.
No air through my Nose and I
felt like I wanted to scratch my Nose and eyes out. I took Practise
slowly and just went out there checking my Line out.
Steven Sword Had a big crash in practise :o((( And broke his foot. Not
very Nice at all. Best Wishes Steven!
race:
I was ready for the first
race. My Bike was working well and so was my Mind. I got a good jump out
the gate but was cut off in the first corner. I was lying about 20th
after that. I got around (and went through) a lot of riders and was
lying 15th after 3/4 of a lap. I had to stop the race pretty early
because I was having problems with my Anti Hopping Clutch. I was pretty
disappointed. That was a top 12 spot gone...
For the second race we rode a Hinson Clutch and my other bike. I was out
of the gate only ok. I dived into the inside on the first Corner and
came out 12. I passed and got repassed by a few riders in the first 2
laps. There was a lot of Hard riding going on. I was settled into 10th.
Ken de Dyker Came flying by and he ended up 3rd. I was passed and ended
up 11th.
Hmmm 11th I was ok with that... A Special Thanks to Nadine for
travelling the whole way up with our Son, My Mechanic Heinz and his Wife
Heidi, Jürgen, Robby Sen . Robby Jr. and there Families. And Not to
Forget Thomas from Oakley,
I `m looking forward to my next master race next weekend in Austria.
Hope to see you all there...
